100A Heavy Duty Dual Fan Relay Kit – EFI Applications, Negative Trigger

$209.95$219.95

This completely waterproof Heavy Duty Fan Relay Kit is the high current version of our 70A Dual Fan Relay Kit – EFI Applications.  Powers fans requiring up to 50A continuously with minimal voltage drop!  We offer this kit three ways:

  • For Dual fans with standard Spal fan plugs – of which most of the major fan manufacturers use.
  • Same, but with Metri-Pack 630 Series Fan Connectors
  • For Big Single Fans with two-speeds, also with Metri-Pack 630 Series Fan Connectors (includes the mating connector for your fan, as shown)

Includes full color step-by-step instructions and all hardware shown.

Description

Generally Speaking, All Kits

All kits include a pair of our Song Chuan 70A SPST Relays.  These are the real deal and have minimal voltage drop across them when driving loads up to their rating.  Terminals for the high current switch connections are 3/8 of an inch wide for maximum current transfer.  SOP with all of our fan relay kits is that we use OEM spec plated terminals and crimp and solder all of the high current connections in the PDC and fan connectors to minimize voltage drop.

Dimensions of Relay Module with mounting bracket installed:  6 7/16″ x 2 1/3″ x 2 3/4″ (164mm x 59mm x 69mm)

Specifications – Dual Fan Kits

Wiring to Battery: Dual 10 AWG TXL, terminated with a 5/16″ eyelet
Wiring to Fans: Dual 10 AWG TXL pairs, terminated with OEM style fan plugs or Metri-Pack 630 Series Connectors (your choice)
Maximum Current Capability: 50A per fan for a total of 100A

Triggering is as follows:

  • Fully automatic via low current fan outputs from EFI ECU
  • Compatible with ECUs outputting a Negative (-) trigger for the fan circuits
  • Fans can be set to come on at different temperature settings, assuming the ECU has dual fan outputs that can be programmed to activate at different temp settings

Harness Lengths:

  • Power Harness to Battery:  3ft
  • Output Harness to Fans:  3ft (we add 6″ of length to each fan lead when terminating with Metri-Pack 630 Series Connectors)
  • Trigger Inputs from ECU:  2ft
  • Switched Power Harness:  6ft

Specifications – Single 2-Speed Fan Kits

Got a BIG Fan which has two speeds – whether aftermarket or from a Ford Mustang, Taurus, or Lincoln Mark VIII – you need to power up?  No problem.  There are two types of 2-Speed fans:

  • Type 1 – Low Speed Winding only activated, fan runs in low speed.  Add the High Speed Winding, fan runs in high speed.  This is common for most aftermarket 2-Speed fans.  This kit is fully compatible with these types of fans and requires no other components to install it.
  • Type 2 – Low Speed Winding only activated, fans runs in low speed.  High Speed Winding only is activated, fan runs in high speed.  This is common for most OEM style fans.  This type of fan requires that you use a fan controller (like the Dakota Digital ones) which can be programmed to operate only one winding at a time.  This is not included with the kit.

Wiring to Battery: Dual 10 AWG TXL, terminated with a 5/16″ eyelet
Wiring to Fans: Dual 10 AWG TXL fan winding leads and ground, terminated with a 3-Position Metri-Pack 630 Series Connector*
Maximum Current Capability: 50A per fan for a total of 100A

*The mating half for your fan is included in this kit.

  • Output Harness to Fans:  3ft
  • Trigger Inputs from ECU:  2ft
  • Switched Power Harness:  6ft

Inrush Current Capability

Electric fans are highly inductive loads whose inrush current** can be up to four times the continuous current rating of the fan.  The kit includes pairs of 40A and 50A MAXI Fuses to be compatible with even the largest of fans!  MAXI Fuses were chosen due to their high tolerance for inrush current – more on that HERE.

**Inrush current is the current required of the fan motor when starting from a dead stop.
